Walking Oracle
Olga Masleinnikova
Featured in Gallery 3 in Walk Create Project, 2021
During lockdown I engaged in a daily walk which created a habit of self-compassion, self-enquiry and self-care. A meaningful tracking system has emerged, a path to my past, my present and my future selves. My new habit has become my playful walking oracle in the area of East-Sussex, where I live. I would leave my home setting the following intention: ‘what do I need to understand or to do about my current situation?’ Then I would surrender the answer to my feet, to my senses and to my environment, and take a picture.
Give it a try. What do you receive? #walking_oracle
Walking Oracle …. is a series of visuals exploring this experiential connection between our emotional states and our environment. How an inner emotional state or our inner weather or inner chatter are reflected by the way we see, the way we frame and the way we receive our surroundings. Equally, how our surroundings have the potential to inform, to teach and to guide or/and to balance our inner landscapes and our reception of the world.

- actions of support
- gestures of support to others
- or the ones we would like to receive or give to ourselves
TASK:
Create a response in images, collages, photos or videos of your gestures of support or/and words.

An online course and meeting space for us to collect, create and share resources to help us survive, and even thrive, in these unprecedented times.
Today's invitation is to explore the notion of Flow by following
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Follow a score
Follow a shape
Follow your inhale
Follow an arm in space
Follow the feet into a new direction in a familiar space
Follow the feet into a new direction in a freshly discovered space
Follow a leaf
Follow a map
Follow an exhale
Follow your heart
Follow a thought
Follow a sound
Follow and trust what comes next
Follow the words in a book, opened on a random page
Walk, jump, lean and get still
Run, jump, get still then lean
Follow what feels right
Give a gesture of care to yourself
Send a gesture of support to your colleague
Follow the beat of your favourite song
Follow someone else's movement
Follow your impulse
Follow the tracing of your hand
Follow a colour
Follow your voice
-------------------------------------------------------------
Share your discoveries of 'follow' and 'flow' by leaving a creative trace: photos, words, collages, sculptures, poems, videos and anything else that seems appropriate. You can also connect your 'gestures of support' by following them one after the other and create a sense of flow.
